Myth Or Fact?

Coffee Causes Anxiety and Panic Attacks?

In many community forums, people will usually recommend others to refrain from having coffee, energy drinks or any drinks containing stimulants (like Caffeine). But is it really true? Do they cause panic attacks in the first place?

The answer is NO.

It's very unfortunate that many people are wrongfully informed or made to believe that coffee can cause panic attacks.

Firstly, as you know Caffeine unleashes Adrenaline in your body. And Adrenaline is responsible for the "fight-or-flight" response. Your muscles will be tense, you will be extremely alert, etc. BUT, they do not cause panic attacks or any anxiety-related problems. If this is true, wouldn't all non-anxiety suffering adults who drink coffee every morning have panic attacks or at least high anxiety everyday?
Of course not!

My theory will explain this - the Mistaken Chain.

Do Drugs, Smoking, and Alcohol cause Anxiety and Panic Attacks?

Coffee Causes Anxiety and Panic Attacks?

Well, this is more interesting. Alcohol relaxes your muscles but why do some people experience anxiety or panic attacks?

Or drugs (like Marijuana) - which are supposed to relax a person's muscles and hallucinate, why do they experience anxiety or panic attacks later?
What about smoking? It also helps to relax one's muscles, but why do they cause anxiety and panic attacks in the end?

My theory regarding on The Mistaken Chain will explain everything.

Drop these false beliefs and advice that you were taught and given.
You can learn to enjoy them again (but not drugs - I don't support drugs).

My theory explains the cause and eliminates them effectively.
